Partnerships & Support
MMFPA works closely with the following partners and authorities:
- Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) — national regulatory authority for FPAs under Act 101 of 1998
- Department of Agriculture (DoA), Eastern Cape — primary provincial support structure for communal fire management
- Amathole District Municipality (ADM) — district-level coordination, disaster management, and infrastructure support
- Mnquma and Mbhashe Local Municipalities — local government partners and co-stakeholders in fire governance
- Traditional leadership structures — critical partners for community mobilisation, firebreak compliance, and grassroots communication
- Disaster Management Centres — emergency coordination and integrated response
- South African Weather Service (SAWS) — fire danger index monitoring and early warning
- Development partners and donors — supporting capacity building and programme delivery

MMFPA is governed by a democratically elected Executive Committee and operates under:
